Two-step verification is an extra layer of security for your Community Savings online accounts

We have launched 2-step verification to enhance your online banking security. When you login to your online banking, you will be prompted to set up 2-step verification. After July 23rd, set up of the 2-step verifiaction is required.

2-step verification is an industry-wide security and user authentication feature that serves as an extra layer of security that will help protect you from cyber threats. Verification codes will be sent to you via text message (SMS) or email when you login in order to confirm your identity.

Below is a list of some commonly asked questions about 2-step verification. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 604-654-2000, e-mail info@comsavings.com or visit your local branch.

How will I benefit from 2-step verification?

2-step verification adds an extra layer of protection to your account by sharing a verification code to your email address or mobile phone number when you log-in to online banking. You may be familiar with this feature when you log in to major websites, from Gmail to the CRA.

What is 2-step verification?

In addition to a stronger, more secure authentication process, 2-step verification enables members (personal accounts only) to re-set their online password virtually, rather than by calling into a branch.

How do I enroll?

The process is easy. The 2-step verification enrollment screen will automatically pop-up when you first log in to your online banking after April 23rd.

Can I use both text and email for 2-step verification?

Yes. When you first enroll, you can enter only one choice (text or email) to receive notifications. However, you can update your contact information using the Profiles and Preferences screen in online banking to add another notification channel. For each login, you will then be able to select your verification method of either text or email to receive the verification code.
